Draft:Kinnie
Kinnies are people who relate to fictional characters or animals in various ways. The subculture grew out of the otherkin and fictionkin communities, and retains some of the same practises and beliefs. However, their interpretation of their experiences and the way they act on them, as well as their use of terminology, is different - sometimes subtly, sometimes radically. Confusion between kinnies and other alterhuman groups has caused friction and hostility. Historically, otherkin have near-universally maligned kinnies for [reasons]. An attempt has since been made to name the problematic behaviours separately, leading to the coining of the term "kin for fun". Popular perception of "kin" outside alterhuman spaces leans more toward relating to rather than being.
