when are drafts 'good enough'?[edit source]

i'm wondering if right now we're setting the bar too high with quality for getting a draft out there. wikipedia's cutting about with live articles like this, after all. not that there's any Formal Policy that describes how done drafts have to be, but i know i personally have been fussing on things far beyond what i really need to, and that certain drafts right now are perfectly acceptable articles even if there's plenty more that we could add to them. of course there is! that's how wikis work.

i have a feeling that focusing on getting articles up and running in their minimum viable state is probably actually beneficial for their long term health in that more people are more likely to see them and work on them, and for the health of the wiki in building it up in general. i'd rather have 60 ok articles than 30 really good ones, because i think that'll get us to 60 really good articles faster than if 30 of them were in draft form. does that make sense? vagabondsun (it/its + he/him) | talkcontrib 23:43, 13 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

honestly, i'm on the "get it out as soon as possible" side, but i've felt like i've been too biased towards quantity over quality! i guess i'm just still learning that it takes time to get a wiki project off the ground, lmao! on a more logical side, i think there's a lot of good information on drafts, and i think it would be helpful to make it easier to access sooner rather than later. and because it's easier, i agree that we'd probably get more edits to them.
